Golden Rule moves forward on the The SeVerna

Among the topics at tonight’s ANC 6C meeting will be an update from the Planning, Zoning, and Environment Committee on The SeVerna development to Northwest One. The matter-of-right development project from Golden Rule will construct a 60-unit apartment building at 1st & K Streets NW.

From The SeVerna narrative:

The SeVerna will consist of a five story building along First Street connecting to two-over-two townhouses along L Street. The townhouses will contain larger three and four bedroom units in an environment mores suited to families, while the mid rise will have studio, one, two and three bedroom units. A community room will be located on the ground floor of the building. Surface parking is planned for this phase, while the design will enable future incorporation of an underground parking garage.

This new addition will add to the other development milestones Northwest One had achieved in 2009 including the demolition of Temple Courts and ribbon cuttings for both the Walker Jones School and Public Library.

The vacant supermarket in the photo was leveled in 2009. It is included as it represents a more interesting “before” photo than the present mound of dirt.
