District Crossfit Turns 1, to relocate across Street
District Crossfit reached its first anniversary early this month. After one short year they now have four coaches and 171 clients.
You may remember the recent news that Douglas Development will be selling land on that block to the American Association of Medical Colleges which plans to build a new office building to serve as their headquarters. That development will displace District Crossfit as the building they are currently leasing at 624 New York Ave NW will be razed. Thankfully Douglas Development had another suitable property nearby. District Crossfit will move directly across the street to a larger space next to DC Eagle.
Future District Crossfit location on 600 block of New York Ave NW
District Crossfit Andrew Killion had the following to say about the new location:
Well… we’re one year in and it’s with an excited yet heavy heart that I’m announcing we are going to be moving District CrossFit. Unfortunately, we’ll be saying goodbye to our humble little gym and saying hello to our brand new swanky spot. Some awesome highlights:
- 3400 square feet (compared to our 1800 currently)
- 20 foot ceilings (that’s right… now we’ll have 20′ rope climbs)
- 2 bathrooms
- Changing Room (still no shower)
- Outside area (perfect for grilling and/or outside WODs)
- and more!!!!
We’re SUPER excited to announce this and we’ve been doing a lot of work to get this ready. There are going to be a ton of changes to our current format that we’re going to be rolling out in the coming weeks. Now, before you get all nervous about your new commute here’s the best part: IT’S DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET!!!
