Results are now available for the Mount Vernon Triangle Retail Survey conducted by the MVT CID. The survey concluded on June 4th and fielded 340 respondents that answered 26 questions regarding their demographics and consumer spending habits. Eighty six percent of the respondents were residents of our MVT neighborhood.
Below are screen captures of 3 slides from the presentation that I found noteworthy.
Note that Mexican restaurant rates high among the survey respondents. Before it even opened I argued that Buddha Bar was a suboptimal choice for MVT and that a Mexican Restaurant that would have used that enormous 130 seat patio at 455 Mass would have been a wild success. I have a similarly feel Texas de Brazil was not the best choice that could have been made. I’m happy to see with this survey that I do indeed have a fairly accurate pulse on the neighborhood. The results also bode well for the bakery planned at 440 K.
Lastly, if you enjoyed these survey results you may want to revisit the results from the MVT Perception Survey last fall.
