On Thursday morning I received a concerned email regarding noisy late night construction at the site of the 460NYA condominiums. City Vista residents had been kept awake all night from construction noises. Irate over this disturbance they contracted DC’s illegal construction department and discovered Bozzuto had secured a permit for two months of night construction (9pm-7am from May 1st 2014- July 1st 2014).
Obviously two months of late night noise is not acceptable in a dense residential neighborhood. This concerned resident continued to press for answers and received a response from Bozzuto they characterized as follows:
I actually just got a call back from someone who is working with Bozzuto and he told me that despite asking for a 2 month night work permit at 460 NY Ave, the noise should now stop because they were doing a large concrete pour last night that can only be done at night due to daytime traffic issues. Apparently they weren’t sure how long the pour would take so they just went ahead and got a 2 month night permit- seems a bit excessive to me, but I’m not in the business and am no expert. There could be future night work I was told but that it should not be loud.
