Fun Fair Event this Saturday

The Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVTCID) is organizing a new festival! This is the second year for this event (Mount Vernon Square Picnic was two years ago). It will be a family festival with fun activities for children and adults alike, including a performance stage, art vendors, craft vendors, nonprofits, and kids area with moon bounce, ball crawl, spin art, face painting, etc. The stage will host a jazz band, rock band, gospel band, and djs to entertain you throughout the day.

The festival will take place at in the parking lot at 400 K Street, NW on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Sponsors include: Altman Parking, 425 Mass, Quadrangle, The Wilkes Company, Gables, and MarcParc

The MVTCID needs a few more volunteers to help bands set up, sell tickets, help with face painting, and work the spin art table. If you would like to volunteer, please email info(at)mountvernontriangle.org.

OMG that’s freakin’ hilarious that they named it Fun Fair after the porno video place (that was allegedly also dealing drugs) on 5TH Street – and that our community got shut down.

Don’t confuse the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVTCID) with the Mount Vernon Square Neighborhood Association (MVSNA). Our bid tax goes to the MVTCID to market and keep the Mount Vernon Triangle safe and clean. The MVTCID has nothing to do with the MVSNA which is the organization having the happy hour at the strip club.

Correct. Also MVSNA is not spending any money on the happy hour, neighbors should bring their own singles.
