The Fourth Annual Downtown Neighborhood Survey is a collaborative effort between The Downtown DC Business Improvement District, Downtown Neighborhood Association, and the Pennsylvania Quarter Neighborhood Association. This survey is a critical part of the the retail development for our neighborhood. If you live or work Downtown please help buy completing a brief online survey at www.downtowndc.org/reports/neighborhood-survey. The survey is currently underway and participation qualifies you to win a gift certificate to a Downtown BID area restaurant of a free weekend stay at the Hotel Monaco.
The information you provide about your household and shopping preferences is used to inform retailer and other businesses about the growing Downtown consumer market and the area’s retail needs. This information is treated as confidential and will only be released in summary form. The greater the participation, the better our neighborhood can be profiled and the better value this research will provide for our neighborhood.
The basic reports from the previous Downtown Neighborhood Survey are available on the BID website. In 2009 participation from the Triangle was high, as roughly 1/3 of all residents responding came from our area, with a resident of 400 Mass winning the prize.
I know from past years some are concerned about privacy with this survey. My recommendation continues to be that concerned apartment or condo dwellers only provide their street address and not their unit number. Additionally, if you value your privacy over the chance to win the prize don’t provide your name or email at the last step of the survey.
