I agree that the flier is an abomination. But it’s the best I could scrounge up from their website. Anyone is welcome to send photos from the event to mvtriangle@gmail.com. I’ll update this posting with submitted photos and remove the ugly flier.

They should be open LATER!! Seems like they’re targeting the daytime working crowd, but they’re totally missing out on catering to the residents in the neighborhood. How can residents get home from work & still make it there for some fun & some shopping if they close at 7PM? What a shame. If they were open ’til 9 or 10 PM, I’d totally go with friends at night, ride some rides, eat some food & have some fun. Next time, remember that people live downtown, they don’t just work there. We should have a DC county fair at City Center! :)

I just got back from the Festival and John is correct. The types of items and activities would be more suited to the evening. I am glad the market is there but it was hardly “International.” It seemed more like the typical DC flea market that is in every neighborhood. I think we could do better next time.

Yep, just another market is exactly what this turned out to be, despite all the promises from the guy that put this on – Chef Kenac, that it would be anything but. And it didn’t turn out to be such a great market either. This event ended up being little of what we had all been told it would be. As a vendor, we were made all sorts of promises about the expected crowds and everything thing else there would be like Beer & Wine, tons of Quality Arts & Crafts vendors, tons of great food vendors, BBQ Battles, a man made Malibu Beach with Tikki Bar, Farmer’s market, Fitness and wellness shows and much much more. The TV advertizing that was stated on the website never took place and the radio spots were and after thought that didn’t happen until the final week of the event. Even the Carnival Rides pulled out unannounced in the middle of one night due to how poorly they were doing. I you ask me, this guy should never have been attempting an event of this magnitute…he simply had no clue. Just imagine being a vendor who paid to participate based on all his promises. So many vendors lost money doing this event. Let’s hope this guy never attempts to do another event in DC after this one.
