Residents of Mass Court received notices that the building is being sold for $103 million. The seller is listed as Prudential Insurance on behalf of the teamsters and the buyer is Richard Ellis (CBRE). Jason who rents an apartment at Mass Court informed me that “There is also a notice that a tenants association is forming to exercise our rights under DC law“.
The impending sales transaction may be the explanation for why Madison Property Group removed their listing of the Mass Court retail space from their website over the summer. CBRE likely would prefer to use their in-house property group rather than continue to use Madison’s services.
