From DNA President Miles Groves:
This Tuesday is the June date for our DNA and PSA101W meeting. We will have Ward 2 councilmember Jack Evans and Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs director Linda Argo will be our discussion leaders. PSA 101 Lieutenant Craig Royal will introduce Sergeant Peter Sheldon, the leader of the Chinatown Project that will be discussed. We expect the owner of Inde Bleu, Arjun Rishi, to join us to share the changes at Inde Bleu and the recent opening of his Stirr Lounge.
This is the first time we have had Director Argo with us, bringing an opportunity to better understand the breadth of how her agency impacts our neighborhood.
1D Commander David Kamperin has taken the lead in preparing for summer and the challenges of the teen throngs that arrive in our neighborhood. This project provides a sergeant and ten officers focussing on quality of life crimes in our neighborhood. We will hear more about this on Tuesday. So far this group (as of yesterday afternoon) has made 48 arrests and has brought greater presence of offers at night in our neighborhood.
Please join us on Tuesday, June 9 at Calvary Baptist Church. The address is 833 8th Street and we will be in Kendall Hall.
