Douglas Development puts Square 451 property up for lease

Douglas Development has posted a space for lease sign on the 3 bay garage at 624 New York Avenue NW. This property is part of Jemal’s assemblage on Square 451 for which Paul Millstein presented the development concepts for last November to the MVSNA membership.

Is this movement on the part of Douglas merely an exercise to avoid being assessed at the vacant property rate? Considering Executive Auto Detailers recently invested money to renovate the exterior of their Jemal owned property (607 K Street) on the same square, signs point to new construction being far off.
