We’re currently in a paused period for new construction. Inevitably it will resume and it may be a shock to the system of some of our new residents. Being next to a new high rise construction project’s entire lifecycle from excavation to completion can be trying. The pile driving and big trucks produce great deals of noise and excavation and concrete work send the dust flying. I’ve found one posting on the Lifein MVSNA blog where a homeowner vents about living next to Yale Lofts construction site.
Our building is currently contemplating frequency of window washing. Any advice from our readers? Will it simply be impossible keep windows clean once a development across the street breaks ground? Will there be certain points of construction where the dust is most intense? Does it ease up after a) Excavation b) Pouring the foundation c) only when all concrete pouring is complete? Is there any precedent for developments to provide impacted neighbors a credit for window cleaning?
