TODD BARRY w/ Tig Notaro
What can you say about TODD BARRY: a man who has a receipt museum? Well, you can start by saying he’s a groundbreaking comedian who was passed being hilarious and an idol to other comedians and is now on his way to being a flat-out comedy icon to the masses secured most recently by performances on FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS and LUCKY LOUIE. TIG NOTARO is no slouch herself – JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE & her own COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS are just a few of her honors. We know you’ll love this quirky, idiosyncratic world – hey, maybe you’ll wind up staying for a while.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 9, 2008, 9:30PM, Synagogue @ 6TH & I, $25
JB Smoove – Comedy phenom and star of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and FOX’s “‘Til Death” – comes to DC, making some noise, having some fun and bringing some hilarious friends along to make a little RUCKUS.

That writeup for Todd Barry by the marketing team is an oversell without saying much about who he is. JB Smoove was damn funny on Curb Your Enthusiam.
